Angle Stop Valve for Toilet Supply
Angle stop valves for your plumbing fixtures
Angle Stop Valves, also referred to as fixture shut-off valves, are isolated shut-off valves located underneath bathroom sinks and kitchen sinks, as well as next to toilets. These valves allow you to turn off the hot and cold water for the corresponding fixtures without the need to shut off the water to your entire home for a basic faucet or toilet replacement or repair. Properly sized supply lines are connected to the valves in order to feed water to your fixtures.
Types of Angle Stops
The most common types of angle stops are compression connection valves. These types of valves use compression rings and nuts to connect the angle stop to the supply piping, creating a watertight seal. Compression valves are common with copper piping. FIP (female iron piping) angle stops use a threaded connection to twist onto the water supply piping, commonly used with galvanized water supply piping.
Quarter turn angle stop valves are the most common types of valves, as they mimic a ball valve and their 1/4 turn fully opens and closed the valve. Multi-turn angle stops have been around for a longer time and, like gate valves, make full turns with their handle to open and close the valve.
